EsRā Dunca-Sprawling’s journey as a classically trained Meisner actor began with a personal invitation from Jim Jarrett, Sanford Meisner’s final teaching protégé. He was the sole member of his cohort to complete the program, earning Best Actor at the Meisner Technique Studios film festival. Melissa Thompson Essaia, the school’s former director, once described him as “a force to be reckoned with.”
This rigorous training—and the accolades that followed—gave directors and producers the confidence to cast EsRā as the lead in the very films he helped produce. His performances have headlined projects alongside respected industry veterans such as Doug Jones, Lance Henriksen, and Sean Patrick Flannery, and his production companies are built on a foundation of creative trust and performance excellence.
As a producer and creative director, EsRā has founded three distinct production entities to support a range of storytelling formats and budgets:
Across all three banners, EsRā’s projects have either secured partial funding or reached completion with international distribution. His companies reflect a commitment to building sustainable, globally resonant storytelling platforms that empower both emerging and established voices.
In parallel with his production work, EsRā launched DaisyDaisy333.com—a digital-first platform supporting his work as a legal documentarian, writer, and digital content creator. The platform features collaborations with longtime friend and creative ally Richie Vetter, who first gained visibility on Vine and helped shape early influencer culture alongside figures like Jake Paul.
DaisyDaisy333 serves as both a creative and evidentiary vehicle, bridging formal documentation with immersive storytelling. It also co-published Wallflower of the Year, allowing EsRā to retain full creative control while integrating legal advocacy, memoir, and cultural critique into a unified digital offering.
EsRā holds the rare distinction of being the first and only American Geisha, and only the second male in recorded history to receive formal recognition. This honor was conferred through his work as founder of Gion Beverly Hills, in collaboration with Eitaro Matsunoya—the first documented male Geisha and owner of Matsunoya Corporation in Tokyo.
Following rigorous training and performance, EsRā was formally adopted into Eitaro’s Geisha family and recognized by Matsunoya Corporation. As an American Geisha, he performed in private cultural ceremonies and produced the first music video to feature Geisha performers—including himself—within a contemporary artistic context. In that project, he performed live taiko drum alongside fellow Geisha, having been personally trained by Eitaro Matsunoya, and collaborated with Matsunoya Corporation to arrange and produce the music. The work served as a cultural bridge, honoring the precision and beauty of Japanese traditional arts while introducing them to Western audiences through modern creative expression.
Beyond film and cultural production, EsRā has contributed as a designer. He co-designed his San Francisco home in Golden Gate Heights with acclaimed architect John Lum, whose firm is known for refined, livable modern design across the Bay Area. The residence—featuring Eastern European glam, Wabi-Sabi elements, and a raised teak performance platform (which inspired the name Teak Stage Productions)—was profiled in multiple publications and described as an architectural masterpiece. The home blends theatricality, intimacy, and ritual, reflecting EsRā’s commitment to storytelling through space and form.
During a period of extreme personal hardship, including false imprisonment in Beverly Hills following an attempted kidnapping by stalkers (as detailed in Wallflower of the Year), EsRā found refuge and mentorship with stylist and dear friend Kaeden Kalqtic. Kaeden, known for his early YouTube advocacy around bodily autonomy and later success in fashion, offered his home and studio as a safe haven. His fashion line, Kalaqtic, has been worn by artists such as Nicki Minaj, Machine Gun Kelly, Ashnikko, Imagine Dragons, and Megan Thee Stallion.

EsRā’s recent publication, Wallflower of the Year, is a deeply personal and genre-defying work that blends memoir, cultural critique, and poetic reflection. It chronicles his journey through visibility, resilience, and transformation—both in the public eye and behind closed doors. Central to the book is his relationship with his husband, Andrei Dunca, the web pioneer behind LiveRail, which was acquired by Facebook in its second-largest acquisition to date. Andrei’s sudden disappearance—amid escalating threats and reputational sabotage—became a turning point in EsRā’s life and creative practice.
EsRā navigated all of this while acting as my own agent and manager, with legal representation from Darin Frank and Jill Varon at Sloan, Offer, Weber & Dern.
